Welcome!
The mission of the NIU Honors Program Alumni Affinity Group is to re-connect and engage Honors alumni with each other and the NIU Honors Program. These goals will be accomplished through internet and in-person networking events, and through establishing the group’s presence with the NIU Alumni Association and Honors Program.
The University Honors Program is now beginning its 40th anniversary celebration. The anniversary has energized efforts by alumni to reconnect with each other, NIU’s campus and the Honors Program faculty, staff and students. The University Honors Program has compiled contact information for its 3,642 alumni, and is working with interested alumni to help generate awareness and encourage participation in upcoming Honors alumni events. Enthusiasm for the affinity group has led to the establishment of social networking groups.

Many NIU Honors alums fondly recall their first dorm room on the Honors floor, the spot where they met their college sweetheart, the lecture hall or classroom where they took their favorite class and the campus hangout where they spent their free time away from class…
We want you to share your NIU Honors memories with us!
Here are the rules:
Either scan photos that you still have from your time at NIU, or visit campus between now and the end of Homecoming week and take pictures of spots from the following list. Once you’ve submitted your photos to us, we’ll put your name in a drawing.
A winner will be drawn at random from participants on Oct. 23. (This gives those who choose to take pictures if they visit campus during Homecoming a chance to assemble the photos and mail them to us).
Be sure to include your name, what year you graduated and which item from the list each picture is depicting.
Please send us at least five photos of places from the following list:
1. The building where you took your favorite college class (and please tell us what that class was).
2. The spot where you met your college sweetheart.
3. Favorite hang out.
4. Best spot for a cup of coffee/all-nighter.
5. A place that you lived.
6. Favorite place to study.
7. Favorite local or campus landmark.
8. The spot you met your best friend in college.
9. Where you were when you had the best time in college.

11. The place where you spent most of your hard-earned money.
12. Best spot for a nap between classes.
13. The place where you took your hardest class.
14. Best kept secret
15. The most surprising change to campus/DeKalb since you graduated.
16. The restaurant you had your parents take you when they came to visit
17. Best place to see live music
18. The place where you laughed the hardest.
