The University Honors Program provides the following advantages to students:

  • Priority Registration
  • An opportunity to interact with highly motivated students with similar interests in a small college atmosphere at a large university
  • Specialized curriculum which emphasizes critical thinking skills in a seminar format

  • A specialized Honors staff to assist students in meeting Honors program requirements, as well as assisting students in their choice of educational programs and courses
  • The opportunity to live in the Honors House; coed, smoke-free quiet lifestyle floors in Douglas Residence Hall with computer labs, on-site advising, and specialized intellectual, cultural, social, and service programs
  • The opportunity to complete a focused independent project called a Capstone with the individual assistance of an Honors faculty member and the Honors Program staff
  • The opportunity to graduate "With Honors"; a designation which can be an important credential for job placement and graduate/professional school application

In addition to many wonderful opportunities with professors, students, and small class sizes, Honors offers advising to help assist you. Honors advisors can help you with course selection as well as completion of your Honors requirements.
